Saying Goodbye
Alexander Supertramp tells us that happiness is only felt when shared with other people. Edward Abbey spent his years in solitude in order to explore the far corners of his mind and soul. Both are correct. To try and be so linear in thought is a huge mistake. We need companionship, love and laughter as equally as we need solitude, quiet and self-exploration. I think the latter makes the first more fulfilling.

Wow Ryan, it finally is happening. I am proud of you. As your Dad and one of your mentors, it is especially pleasing to know that travel is at the heart of your soul. I don't think I need to tell you that it has been for me also. As others have said before us, it is the journey not the destination that creates our life experience. May your journey be full of excitement, knowledge to be gained, and a sense of fulfillment in one's life exploration. We will leave all of the fears or negatives for others to ponder. Go forth and conquer your destination. With the greatest of love and profound admiration for what you are about to do, your Dad and Jazz. Love and take care.
